Tom Tom Festival to Honor Founders

Sept. 4, 2014

New banners placed along the Downtown Mall showcase those making big changes in the community.

The Tom Tom Founders Festival nominated 18 local founders out of a pool of 120 to represent the "Founding Charlottesville Celebration". This group of people includes artists, civic leaders, and entrepreneurs.

"Tom Tom came up with a great idea to get the word out about people that found organizations here, and also the fact that Charlottesville is a place that really supports new ideas," said Kate Collier, founder of the Local Food Hub.

Each founder will be publicly recognized at a ceremony during the fall block party, which will be held on September 26th.
