The Tom Tom Founders Fest kicked off with a block party in front of the McGuffey Art Center in Charlottesville on Friday. Second Street shut down to make way for food trucks to line sidewalks. There was also face painting, beer tasting, and live music.
"The idea of the festival is that Charlottesville is a creative and place and we want to spur creativity in all different directions, whether it's an artist or a musician or a business," said Paul Beyer, the director of the festival.
The Tom Tom Founders Fest is a four-day event, filled with sixty concerts, innovation talks, pitch competitions and innovation. For a full schedule of events, visit www.tomtomfest.com
