The top-ranked Western Albemarle scholastic bowl team is headed to Blacksburg.

The team recently went undefeated at the conference finals. This weekend, they head to Blacksburg to face off with other scholastic teams.

So how do they study for questions that can range from art history, science, math, and current events?

Junior Eric Xu says it’s a combination of factors.

"The questions that come up are all things that relate to the world, just things that you learn in school and such. So you can just study major works by authors, you can study things that you go over in math and science classes and it always comes up in the questions."

The team will be competing in the national championships in Chicago in May.

This weekend they will compete with other top teams in the area.
