Toy Lift Needs New Distribution Location

Organizers of the Toy Lift need your help. Christmas is nearly two months away and the community holiday staple is in jeopardy.

Organizers just found out they have no warehouse space to store all the toys collected this year, and they need someone to step up and help.

Tom Powell, the founder of the Toy Lift, says the event needs 30,000 square feet of warehouse space to distribute the toys.
Toy Lift would use the space the last two weeks of November through the first two weeks of December.
The group has all the insurance, and will pay utilities.
Powell says this year the event will look to provide gifts for almost four thousand kids, and without a distribution center, the event is in real trouble.

"We will take care of between 3500-4000 children. We could have as much as 500 bikes and the 500 bikes will fill up 10,000 square feet in a heart beat. So we need a place," says Powell.

The last couple years Toy Lift has used the old Circuit City space, but now that is under construction and unavailable.

This year the Toy Lift is on December 7th. It will be at Fashion Square, and five other locations throughout the area.
