Traffic Reminders: Women's Four Miler, First UVa Football Game Saturday

Drivers in Charlottesville and Albemarle may want to avoid two areas on Saturday.

First, Garth Road will close between Old Garth Road and Owensville Road from 7:20 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. for the 2014 Charlottesville Women's Four Miler.

Residents will be allowed access to their homes, but drivers are asked to avoid the area.

The Four Miler is Virginia's largest all-women event with
about 3,500 runners and walkers.

Later in the day, the first UVA home football game is kicks off at noon. Police say to expect delays around Scott Stadium and the University of Virginia around the time of the game.
