Tree Debris Collection Delayed in the City of Charlottesville
Debris Pickup Delayed

The City of Charlottesville prepared their trucks for last night's snow storm. Plows were out all morning making sure the roads were clear, but that left residents wil another day with debris in their sidewalks and curbs.
Tree limbs and debris can be seen all around neighborhoods in Charlottesville. Today was supposed to be the start of debris pickup in residential areas in the city.
Instead, all of the Charlottesville collection trucks were fitted for snow removal from this morning's quick snow storm.
"It will be a day late or two before crews will get a chance to start," says Miriam Dickler, the director of communications for the city. "They were working last night to prepare for the snowfall to make sure roads were treated and if anything needed to be cleared, they were out clearing it."
"So that changes their schedule, which changes the debris pickup schedule," added Dickler.
The city is expected to start tree pickup by no later than Wednesday morning.They are asking that residents have their debris out in front of their homes by 7 a.m. and that the debris doesn't take up more than 10 feet of space.
