A court proceeding continued Thursday afternoon for a man accused of an attempted abduction of a UVa student
26 year-old Matthew Beaulieu was arrested and charged with abduction. According to search warrants, police found duct tape, a ski mask, rope, and a butcher's knife in his car.
Documents say, Beaulieu told officers he attacked the woman because he was upset his girlfriend broke up with him, and he wanted company.
Police say this incident is a reminder for everyone to take extra precaution when walking at night. His next court appearance is scheduled for February.
