A trial date has been set for the former Albemarle County Public Schools employee accused of stealing 111 computers from from the school system.
Alex Hunt, 34, faces one count of grand larceny totaling $110,000 for allegedly taking the laptop computers from an off-site storage facility in January 2011.
His trial will begin on Mar. 6.
School Division officials discovered the computers were missing through standard inventory control measures. The laptops were used primarily for state-mandated online Standards of Learning (SOL) testing.
A representative from the school district confirmed Hunt, of Stanardsville, was employed by ACPS as a general maintenance worker from May 2005 until his arrest.
