Triple homicide suspect, Rashad Riddick, pleaded not guilty to all charges in Madison County Court.
Riddick, 26, is charged with capital murder in the 2011 deaths of James Clark Jackson, his wife Karen Jackson, and her daughter Chante Davis.
After months in psychiatric treatment facilities, a judge ruled in September that Riddick was competent to stand trial.
Riddick told the court on Monday that he felt he was being denied his right to a speedy trial, after the judge set a trial date for September 2014, more than three years after Riddick's arrest.
Riddick also said he wished to represent himself, but the judge decided to rule on the request at a later date.
Riddick's next court appearance is set for December 5th.
