Trump Winery's 2012 Viognier Named a Top Rated Viognier by Gayot

Jan. 10, 2014

Gayot guide has named Trump Winery's 2012 Viognier to its list of Top Rated Viogniers from around the world.

The Viognier is a type of a grape used to make white wine. Twenty-eight Viogniers from six countries made the list. Chrysalis Vineyards in Middleburg also made the list.

Trump Winery’s winemaker Katell Griaud said that, “It feels great to be recognized by Gayot for producing a top rated Viognier. This grape is fun to work with as a winemaker in Virginia. It is a grape that you can really play with the ripeness to develop certain profiles of aromatics like melon, tropical fruit, and floral notes."

When asked about the award, Eric Trump, President of Trump Winery commented, “When we purchased the winery in 2011 we set a goal of producing wines that could compete with the best in the world. Being included on this comprehensive list proves we are doing it.”
