March 14, 2011

Two people, including a University of Virginia student, were arrested over the weekend for allegedly attempting to sell cocaine outside the Jefferson Theater.

David Cameron Smith, a 21-year-old UVa students, was arrested and charged with intent to distribute cocaine, while Jacquelen Rae Pontious, of Blacksburg, was arrested and charged with possession of controlled substance.

Charlottesville Police received a complaint Saturday night of drug activity happening in front of the theater on the Downtown Mall. That's when officers moved in and arrested the pair.
