The U.S. Army Chorus performed with the Charlottesville Municipal band for a packed Paramount Theater on Tuesday night.
The Chorus had traveled from their D.C. home to Charlottesville on Monday to sing in the free concert.
The Army Chorus played songs from "when Johnny Comes Marching Home" to medleys of songs from the Beach Boys and from the musicalJersey Boys.
Together, the groups played patriotic songs such as "Songs of the G.I." and "The Battle Hymn of the Republic."
They were supposed to play together last year, but had to cancel because of the government sequester.
At the concert, the Army Chorus announced that the group will return next summer.
There are four concerts left in the Charlottesville Municipal Band's free summer concert series. Next is classical music, music from movies and musicals, a family night, and celebration of big bands.
