NORFOLK, Va. (AP) - The USS Donald Cook has arrived at its new home port in Rota, Spain.

The guided-missile destroyer is one of four warships the U.S. is relocating there as part of a NATO-approved ballistic missile defense plan. Each ship is equipped with the sophisticated Aegis radar system, which enables them to track and shoot down ballistic missiles.

The ship arrived at Naval Station Rota on Tuesday. It left its previous home port in Norfolk on Jan. 31.

The USS Ross is scheduled to move to Rota later this year, while the USS Carney and USS Porter are scheduled to arrive in 2015.
