UVa Center for Politics Predicts Democrats will Win Big on Nov. 5th

Nov. 1, 2013

The University of Virginia Center for Politics is predicting Democrats will do very well in the three major state races on Election Day.

Kyle Kondick says they expect Democrat Terry McAuliffe to take the governor's race. McAuliffe has been consistently ahead in the polls.

The Center for Politics also expects Democrat Ralph Northam to maintain his lead over Republican EW Jackson for lieutenant governor.

What it all comes down to, says Kondick, is the attorney general's race.

"That race is pretty close to being a toss-up. I think I'd put a pinky on the scale for Mark Herring, just because I think you'd rather be the Democrat in this race, because Mark Obenshain is going to rely on a lot of voters splitting their tickets, and that's kind of hard to do."

Kondick doesn't expect third party candidate Robert Sarvis to do as well on Election Day as he has down in the polls for governor.
