Paul Tudor Jones II is under fire for his comments concerning women in trading, at a panel held by the University of Virginia in April.
The Washington Post reports that Jones, a 1976 graduate, was answering a question from the audience about why there are so few women in the trading business.
Jones replied with a personal observation that many women opt out of the career after having children.
Officials at UVa say Jones immediately received complaints for his response.
Jones is a major benefactor to the University, having donated the money to build the John Paul Jones Arena, which is named for his father.
