UVa Investigating Fraternity on Grounds

In a letter to students, University of Virginia administrators are requesting fraternities complete all new member initiations by 6:00 PM on Saturday, April 6. The request comes after allegations of misconduct. UVa officials say the change is not in response to allegations of criminal misconduct.

Currently, one fraternity is facing a university investigation after reports of inappropriate behavior. School officials say additional investigations could begin in the coming days, but aren't naming which fraternities are facing scrutiny.

Administrators say the deadline for initiations is to "ensure student safety". If fraternities don't comply with the deadline, officials say they could face sanctions, such as being unable to participate in University-sponsored activities.
