The University of Virginia's honor system has undergone a change.
Students approved a proposal that allows those accused of an honor violation to avoid expulsion if they confess.
Students who admit guilt would be suspended for a year.
A proposal to eliminate juries of random students was rejected.
The honor system prohibits UVa. students from lying, cheating or stealing.
