Students at the University of Virginia are promoting recycling with a giant display on the lawn.
This is their 5th Annual America Recycling Day. Students spelled out the letters "A-R-D" in recycling bins on the lawn. They're hoping to reach out to as many students, faculty and staff as possible.
"Basically we're just trying to promote recycling on grounds, getting people to divert as much waste from landfills as possible," said second-year student Tim Metzger. "Over here we have a trivia challenge set up. We're seeing who can guess how much water is saved by recycling all those cans over there."
Students also gave out recycling magnets and buttons to passers-by.
