Architecture students at the University of Virginia displayed their designs of a new Belmont Bridge. The students are looking for a design that is more pedestrian and bicycle friendly.
Students worked in groups to develop almost 30 different design models. They hope their design plans will be considered for the bridge.
"UVa. Architecture School has taken it upon ourselves to become very involved in this community competition and really try to re-imagine what this part of Charlottesville could be like with a new crossing," said architecture student Sarah Cancienne.
The current Belmont Bridge is in serious need of repairs. The student projects will be on display at The Charlottesville Community Design Center.
