Feb. 25, 2014

Utility work scheduled for Sunday, March 2, is expected to create significant traffic delays on Route 29 / Seminole Trail in the Ruckersville area of Greene County.

Rappahannock Electric Cooperative will be working between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m. that day to run power lines across Rt. 29, between Route 616 / Carpenters Mill Road and Route 33 / Spotswood Trail.

As the lines are run, no vehicles will be allowed to pass through the area. Officials say people should expect stops of up to 10 minutes occurring at intervals during the work hours. Drivers are advised to use an alternate route if possible.

Message boards will be in place today to inform drivers of the work and related traffic impacts.

The work is being done under permit issued by the Virginia Department of Transportation. The Greene County Sheriff’s Office will provide traffic control.
