VDOT Has Already Spent Around $6 million in Culpeper District

Jan. 30, 2014

Winter storms are usually costly, but Virginia Department of Transportation’s Culpeper District will likely be over budget if the snow keeps coming.

As of January 9th, nearly $6 million of the $10 million yearly budget for our area is gone.

That figure doesn't count the costs of all 13 weather events we have seen so far this season.

A VDOT spokesperson says even if they go over budget, they won't cut back on clearing the roads.
