VDOT: Lane Closures will Occur on Rt. 29 for Pipe Replacement

July 8, 2014

This week and next, a contractor for the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will replace a pipe that runs under Route 29 (Monacan Trail) approximately one mile south of Interstate 64 in Albemarle County.

Lane closures will occur on Rt. 29 in both directions over the next 10 days. Message boards are in place to direct traffic and alert drivers of potential congestion ahead.

Officials say drivers should use caution through the work zone and expect minor delays.

Real-time road conditions and weather forecasts are available on VDOT’s traffic and travel website, www.511Virginia.org.
