BEALETON, Va. (AP) - Virginia State Police are searching for the driver responsible for a fatal hit-and-run in Fauquier County.
The Sunday night incident occurred on Route 17 less than a mile south of Route 28.
Police say 58-year-old Douglas Rabren of Stafford was killed after his 2004 Scion was rear-ended by a green, Ford F-150 pickup truck. The impact pushed the Scion into another car and the Scion and the pickup truck ran off the side of the road together.
State police are still searching for the driver of the pickup truck, who fled the scene on foot. Officials also are trying to locate the pickup truck's owner, 32-year-old Diego Vasquez Mendoza of Culpeper.
Anyone with information is asked to please call the Virginia State Police at 540-829-7771.
