The Virginia State Legislature reconvened on Wednesday to consider Governor McDonnell's changes to several bills passed by the General Assembly.
Last week, McDonnell amended 80 bills and vetoed six.
The Senate is battling over McDonnell's amendment to ban abortion coverage from being sold through a new federally run health insurance exchange.
The bill faces an uncertain outcome in the Senate, where Democrats and Republicans hold 20 seats apiece.
