FRANKLIN, Va. (AP) - Vandalism is suspected in the derailment of a CSX freight train near Franklin in September.

The Virginian-Pilot reports that that CSX cited vandalism as the primary cause on an accident form it filed with the Federal Railroad Administration.

A spokeswoman for the agency says the railroad reported objects placed on track and a thrown switch.

A CSX spokeswoman says the railroad is cooperating with an FBI investigation. Two employees injured in the derailment are recovering.

Two locomotives and nine freight cars derailed on Sept. 19.
