Virginia Airman Dies in Afghanistan Aircraft Crash

A Virginia airman has died in Afghanistan after an aircraft crash.

The Department of Defense announced 28-year-old Air Force Capt. Brandon Cyr of Woodbridge died on Saturday.

The incident happened near Kandahar Airfield in Afghanistan when an MC-12 aircraft crashed.

The department is investigating the crash, but preliminary reports show no evidence of enemy activity in the area at the time of the crash.

Three other airmen also died in the accident.
