Virginia Organizing Leaders Arrested at Speaker Boehner’s Office

June 11, 2014

Five Virginia Organizing leaders, including two State Governing Board members, were arrested at the office of U.S. Speaker of the House John Boehner's office on Wednesday.

Kate Rosenfield from Charlottesville was among those arrested.

“There are so many immigrant families living and working in the United States and supporting this nation doing jobs no one else will do,” said Rosenfield.

The group says they were taking a stand for immigration reform. They say Boehner has failed to act on immigration reform that House leadership has either shot-down or ignored.

Rosenfield says her arrest today was for the many immigrant families torn apart by current immigration regulations that she feels need to be re-examined.
