RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - The Virginia Department of Education has unveiled a new instructional video about the history and culture of the 11 state-recognized American Indian tribes.

It's entitled The Virginia Indians: Meet the Tribes. The department says the video features Keenan Stewart, a fifth-grader at Charles City Elementary School and a member of the Chickahominy tribe, answering classmates' questions about the state's tribes.

The video can be found on the Virginia's First People Past and Present website at http://virginiaindians.pwnet.org . The website is designed as an instructional guide for elementary, middle and high school teachers. It includes information, maps, lesson plans, links and other resources.
