Some students at Walton Middle School have found a way to help out man's best friend. They've been building doghouses for a project called "HOWS".

The program helps needy dogs have a warm place out the wind. Students work in teams building the houses from scratch.

Walton student Sarah Cohen says its an important project.

"It’s really important for us to build these doghouses because it’s not just any doghouse, it's a special type of doghouse that helps to keep all the warm air inside of the houses for the dog."

The students are making 5 dog houses. All of the supplies were donated.
