June 30, 2014

The man wanted in connection for a Charlottesville murder last month turned himself in today.

Avery Gray Jr., 39, turned himself into authorities Monday morning. Gray was wanted in connection to the death of 36-year-old Oscar Brown.

Brown was shot and killed last month outside the apartments on Hardy Drive.

Court records show in 1998, Gray was sentenced to five years in prison relating to several charges. He faced another three years in prison in 2002 for a probation violation.
