Website Shows True Cost of Speeding Tickets in Va.

Anyone who has ever received a speeding ticket knows that the cost of speeding does not end with the fine, it also includes an increase in insurance.

The average speeding ticket in Virginia costs about $141 for someone going 15 miles per hour over the speed limit, and insurance costs tend to go up about $64 per year for three years.

According to NerdWallet.com, the average total for Virginians is actually $335.84 for a speeding ticket.
