Children in the Westhaven community received a special Christmas treat Saturday afternoon.
The kids received some early Christmas gifts at the neighborhood's community center. Westhaven partnered with students at the University of Virginia's Darden School of Business. Organizers say it's another way to give back to the community and to bring kids holiday cheer.
"It's very important for them to have an opportunity to see that other people in the community like students from Darden are interested in them just having a great holiday season," said event organizer Carla Manno.
Santa Claus made an appearance and spent time listening to toy requests.
The group handed out 170 gifts.
