In this week’s What’s Going Around we’re focusing on sinus problems and viral illness. We're checking in with two local medical offices to find out what has people feeling under the weather.
Dr. Yates Sealander of Madison Family Medicine tells us sinusitis is going around there. Symptoms include nasal congestion, nasal discharge, facial pain or pressure and sometimes a fever.
Treatment includes decongestants like Sudafed or nasal sprays. Dr. Sealander also recommends good hand washing to help prevent the spread.
Nurse practitioner Cindy Napier of Buckingham Family Medicine says viral illness is going around there.
Symptoms include nausea, vomiting, fever and body aches.
Treatment includes Tylenol, ibuprofen, rest and drinking plenty of clear liquids.
