What's Next for 'The Hook' Distribution Boxes?

October 7, 2013

Now that the Hook newspaper has stopped the presses, what's next for all those red distribution boxes?

The Hook's parent company says crews are in the process this week of taking the boxes off the streets. There are more than 100 spread throughout Central Virginia.

A spokeswoman for the company said some of the boxes will be reused, although what they may be used for hasn't been decided. All the remaining boxes will be sold.

However, at least a half-dozen of the distribution boxes have gone missing, presumably stolen off the streets, the spokeswoman said.

The Hook ended publication at the end of September and is merging with C-VILLE Weekly.
