Volunteers spent the day stitching and sewing in Charlottesville to bring the world together.

Local artist Aaron Fein has a vision of a world of white flags. He's working to create 192 white flags, one for each country in the United Nations, as part of his White Flag Project.

Fein said the flags are symbolic in that all these countries are interdependent on one another.

Volunteers spent the day working the sewing machines for the unique cause.

"One isn't prettier or more designed than the other," volunteer Mickie Elzinga said. "If everything's white, even though some designs are more intricate than others, you still feel more on an equal level."

All the finished flags are on display at the Westminster Presbyterian Church on Rugby Road.

I am dismayed by the overuse of white. I find that to be insensitive to we of colo(u)r. And with the extreme, global warming winters of late, the whole "concept" sends a chill, not that Chris Matthews "tingle", throughout my whole self. Not much diversity in all white! Silly that. Let's try all black next time...nah, I just don't get it. My bad! But if the artistic effort were to presented to the U.N., maybe then, along with giving everyone in/ on the world a Coke, singing that catchy jingle, it would "bring the world together". Praise be unto him, Peace be upon us all. "The Enemy Of My Enemy Is My Friend" and other such goodies. KA-BOOM! White?! Why? Some would ask, "why not", and so it goes on. Now on to the important stuff in the world- The Super Bowl!

What a pile of feel-good liberal hogwash. Most of these countries wouldn't exist in their current state if it wasn't for the USA
