Ed Clark, the President of the Wildlife Center of Virginia, was recognized Tuesday for his work nursing animals back to health.
Clark, who co-founded the organization 30 years ago, received the 2012 Rare Life Award presented by Eagle Rare Single Barrel Bourbon Whiskey.
Clark won the award based upon online voting. He says the work he's done couldn't happen without his team.
"Anything worthwhile that I've ever accomplished or for which I've ever gotten credit has always been a team effort. I'm really blessed here at the Wildlife Center to have the world's best team and I will be accepting the award on their behalf," he said, humbled by the award.
The center is recognized around the world as a top research hospital for wildlife conservation. Clark also won a $20,000 donation.
