Someone in Virginia has a lottery ticket worth about $99 million.

The jackpot for Friday's Mega Millions drawing came to $198 million total, with winning tickets being sold in New Jersey and Virginia.

The winning Virginia ticket was bought at a Food Lion in Farmville.

The winner has 180 days to come forward and claim the prize. That person or persons will have a choice: Either take the full $99 million in 26 annual payments or a one-time cash option of approximately $73.3 million before taxes.

Lottery ticket sales generate more than $1.3 million per day for Virginia’s K-12 public schools. In 2012, the Virginia Lottery generated more than $485 million for our state’s public schools.
