Woman Charged with Stealing Ambulance Granted Bond

A woman accused of stealing an ambulance from outside the University of Virginia Medical Center is granted bond.

45 year-old Laura Jean Aven of Scottsville is charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

On Tuesday, a judge granted a $2,500 bond.

The ambulance is part of the Charlottesville Albemarle Rescue Squad, and was taken from outside the Emergency Room of the Medical Center.

The ambulance was found abandoned a few blocks away from the hospital.
