More than a hundred people turned out Sunday afternoon for a tennis tournament in memory of Yeardley Love at UVa.'s Snyder Tennis Courts.
This was the third year for the memorial tournament, which serves as a fundraiser for the One Love Foundation. The foundation's goal is to educate young people about relationship violence.
Love was killed by her ex-boyfriend, UVa. men's lacrosse player George Huguely, in 2010.
"It's always hard when time goes by to kind of remember what happened, and I think that this event allows people to remember Yeardley for how happy she was on such a beautiful day," said Anne Thomas, one of the event organizers.
Love's former women's lacrosse teammates organized the event. They said they are already planning to continue the tournament next year.
