University of Virginia Medical Center employees showed off their best moves Friday morning in an effort to promote heart health.

February is National Heart Month and Feb. 3 is "Wear Red Day." In honor of both, the UVa Club Red Clinic hosted two Zumba classes. The Latin-themed dance gave employees an opportunity to get a cardio workout while having some fun.

"We often label activity as exercise and it becomes a burden to do, but what we really want is activity. We want people to be active even if they squeeze it into the nooks and crannies of their busy day," said Dr. Amy Tucker.

In addition to Latin dancing, people who attended the class also received information on the health benefits of Zumba and other ideas for staying fit. Doctors say people who engage in a healthy lifestyle can reduce their risk of developing heart disease by 80 percent.
