New Job Application Process in Charlottesville

May 11, 2009

Applying for a job is about to get easier in Charlottesville. The city is tossing the age old process of filling out paper applications to the curb.

Starting next month the city will be using a new job application software program that can be accessed online.

City employees say it will offer applicants more options. "the current system we have in place has been there for about five or six years," says Galloway Beck with Charlottesville Human Resources. "it has come to the end of its useful life, there were some bugs in it. We knew we needed to upgrade and were looking for ways to do what we do more efficiently and more effectively."

The new system will be accessible from the city's website, charlottesville.org, starting June first.
