UVa Students Paint Beta Bridge in Love's Memory

May 3, 2011

It was on May 3, 2010 that then fourth-year student Yeardley Love was found dead in her off-grounds apartment on 14th Street. University of Virginia students marked the one-year anniversary of the former lacrosse player's death by painting Beta Bridge in her honor on Tuesday.

The popular bridge, located near the University's fraternities and sororities on Rugby Road, was painted the phrases "Love You Yeardley" and "One Love". No formal events have been planned on University grounds.

The Love family told Sports Illustrated they planned a day of quiet remembrance at their home outside Baltimore. The full article can be found in the May 2 issue of SI.

Love's ex-boyfriend, George Huguely, has been charged with her death. He was indicted by a grand jury in April and will stand trail in February of next year.
