For this week's segment of Make Dan Sweat, CBS19's Dan Schutte tried Wake Skating and met up with Matt Hayden, a pro rider. The sport is similar to skateboarding, except you are on water.

"I'm ranked 7th on the tour right now and I won 2008 and 2009 worlds as an amateur, and I moved up to pro this year, so this is my rookie year and I'm doing pretty well so far," said Hayden. Hayden and Zach Tarleton are part of a budding wake community at Lake Anna, where there are events going on all the time, such as next week's Lakeapalooza.

"Red Bull is going to be out, riders going to be out, some rail demos, lot of riding, should be a good time," said Tarleton.

Both riders say practice pays off.

"Right now I'm pretty proficient on what I can do, I've been working to get consistent with my tricks," said Tarleton.

The wake skate is much smaller than the wake board, and makes getting up a little tricky. However, both Hayden and Tarleton say once you are used to it, the possibilities are endless.
