VA Film Festival Family Day
November 3, 2012
This Saturday afternoon was perfect weather for community members to come to the Downtown Mall in order to celebrate the Virginia Film Festival's 25th birthday.
The Family Fun Day was complete with a screening of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. The movie was accompanied by Hollywood characters dressed up in costumes, red carpets and even paparazzi.
The festival had participants who came from all over the nation. There were even movie-goers who had been impacted by Hurricane Sandy and were looking for a change of scenery.
Kimberly Blanch, a festival participant, said the Virginia Film Festival was a "change from what it is like in New Jersey to just free, happiness down here." And, she added, there is also "a lot of gas available."
The film festival kicked off on Thursday and the annual festival will wrap up Sunday. But, today everyone was treated like a star, no matter what age.
