Thomas Jefferson's Monticello is launching a new program that reaches out to toddlers.
The new "toddler time" is intended for children who may be too young for the house tour. It runs 30 minutes and includes stories, crafts and other activities.
It's a brand new offering from the Thomas Jefferson Foundation. They say it's an experience unique to Monticello.
"Here at Monticello we have such rich historical resources that you wouldn't find at a typical program for young children," said Rachel Baum, who leads family programs at Monticello. "We're hoping this will be a place where people fall in love with history, enjoy Monticello and get to do some things that they'd never get to do anywhere else."
The program is for children three and under with their families. It kicks off February 1.
