Good Reads Sold at Book Sale Raise Thousands

November 18, 2012

Sunday was the last day to snag a deal at the Friends of the Library Book Sale at Gordon Avenue Library.

The sale started Nov. 10, and every day since, people have donated and/or bought hundreds of books.

Some people say they wait all year for this event, bringing several tote bags to get all of their favorites and classics.

It's not a one-stop shop. Volunteers say many people come back again and again throughout the whole week.

"It's a great place. They're always restocking. It's almost like you buy books and people are behind you filling the empty spots. You come every day to get the best choice," said book sale veteran buyer, Theresa McAdam.

The book sale has garnered more than $100,000 in the past week. All the money will go toward children's programs at libraries.
