AIDS Walk 2012

October 6, 2012

More than 300 people walked through downtown Charlottesville and University of Virginia grounds Saturday morning, spreading the message of hope to everyone effected by AIDS.

By the end of the event, AIDS/HIV Services Group raised just more than $50,000, but the day was not just about walking and raising
money. With dance and musical performances, it was a celebration of
making a difference and making a community.

"We had people donate from all over the world. It's just fantastic. I think it says a lot about the progress we've made," Reigna Beaux, the first runner-up for Miss Red Ribbon, said.

Members of the ASG say today makes them even more excited for
their next event, World AIDS Day, on Dec. 1.
