Police Make Arrest in Fashion Square Abduction

Albemarle County Police have made an arrest in the abduction at Fashion Square Mall.

On Thursday, November 29, 2012 detectives arrested James Kevin Key and charged him with one count of abduction, a felony offense. Key is 46 years old and a resident of Palmyra.

Key‘s arrest is the result on an investigation after an abduction occurred at Fashion Square Mall on Saturday, November 24th, 2012. Key picked up a two-year old child from behind and began walking away from her parents. The parents were close by and quickly intervened and took the child back.

Key is currently being held at the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail and will have a bond hearing tomorrow at 1:30 at the Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.
