Charlottesville Police responded to a car crash Sunday afternoon, only to find a unlicensed driver had been behind the wheel.
The 16-year-old was trying make a turn at the intersection of 10th and Page streets. Instead of braking, the teen pressed the gas pedal.
The car crashed into a decorative light post and fence causing $3,000 in property damage and another $1,000 in car damage.
There were no injuries reported. The minor was charged with driving without a license.
