C'Ville Restaurant Week raises $9K for Va Institute of Autism

The Virginia Institute for Autism received a check for more than $9,000 dollars from Charlottesville restaurant and business owners after raisng money during restaurant week.
Twenty-eight local restaurants raised the money during restaurant week in order to help the school during restaurant week in order to help the school build a new playground for the students.
Director of the VIA, Ethan Long, spoke about the need for a new playground.
"As you can see our playground is in need of repair and one of the things that we are really excited about is our students have autism it's really important that we have spaces and places for them to to play and to learn," says Long. "We see ourselves here building this whole new special needs very accessible playground and we're really excited because our kids really need this."
The VIA is hoping to raise $80,000 dollars for the playground and is expected to complete the playground by the end of the year.
